Who are the Mennonites?

Mennonites or Anabaptists have our roots in the reformation of the 1500's in Switzerland. This group believed that the church should be separate from the state and taught that people should follow Christ voluntarily and be baptised as adults. Thousands of the early Anabaptists were persecuted and martyred for their beliefs. Today there are over a million Mennonites in many countries around the world.  For a fresh brew of stories and information on Mennonites and an Anabaptist-Christian perspective, click to visit  Mennonite Church Canada,
